Ducks CJ Verdell, Beavs Jermar Jefferson Named to Doak Walker Award Watch List
As we all hope to see college football in the fall, the preseason award watch lists continue to be released.
Both Oregon’s CJ Verdell and Oregon State’s Jermar Jefferson were named to the Doak Walker Award’s watch list, shocking absolutely no one from the state of Oregon.
The award honors the top running back in the country each year.

Last year for the Ducks, Verdell rushed for a team-high 1,220 yards and eight touchdowns. His freshman year, he rushed for 1,018 yards and 10 TDs, and he also scored twice in the passing game.
As for Jefferson, he had a down year thanks missing three games due to injuries. In 2019, he finished with 685 rushing yards and eight TDs on the ground. When he was healthy in 2018, he rushed for 1,380 yards and 12 touchdowns.
If we have a college football season, fall or spring, these two are worth watching every week.
