Dodgers Acquire All-Star Betts From Red Sox

It had been rumored for weeks, but Mookie Betts is finally headed to Tinseltown.

The Boston Red Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers have agreed to a blockbuster deal that will send the former MVP and left-handed pitcher David Price to Los Angeles for a package that includes outfielder Alex Verdugo.

The trade includes a third team, the Minnesota Twins, with the Dodgers sending starter Kenta Maedo to Minnesota, which will send pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol to the Red Sox.

With the move, the Dodgers are going all-in on finally winning the World Series title that has eluded them, despite making the playoffs for seven consecutive seasons. They will be adding Betts, who hit .295 with 29 home runs and 80 RBI’s to a lineup that already features firepower such as Max Muncy, Justin Turner, and Cody Bellinger.

With the news of the trade, a futures bet on the Dodgers to win the World Series moved from +450 to +350.
