Defending NCAA Champs, Oregon State Baseball Picked Third in Pac-12
The Oregon State Beavers won the 2018 NCAA Baseball National Championship. The Pac-12 coaches picked the Beavs to finish third in the Conference. That’s some serious bulletin board material for the defending champs.
The Beavers received 85 points and one first-place vote, according to a press release from the University. UCLA was picked to win the Pac-12 received 97 points and eight first-place votes. Stanford got 90 points and two first-place votes.
Coaches cannot vote for their own teams.
Oregon State is ranked in the top 10 in every major ranking. Beaver players, Adley Rutschman, Kevin Abel, Bryce Fehmel, Jake Mulholland and Brandon Eisert have all received at least one preseason All-American honor, according to the release.
The Beavs open the 2019 baseball season Friday against New Mexico in Arizona.
