Former Oregon Ducks star and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas was arrested Saturday on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Allen County Sheriff’s Office in southeast Kansas.  He was arrested and charged before posting bond.

A Kansas City team spokesperson said the team is aware of the incident.  Thomas signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs in the off-season, but a broken leg suffered during an October practice landed him on injured reserve.

The 26-year-old Thomas will be an unrestricted free agent on March 13th when the new league year begins.

Thomas starred for the Oregon Ducks from 2011-2013 and was the Pac-12 co-offensive freshman of the year in 2011.  He was a fourth-round pick of the Chiefs in the 2014 NFL Draft.
