One day after tweeting that he would “disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by Nike”, celebrity lawyer Michael Avenatti, who was charged on Monday with trying to extort millions of dollars from Nike, accused Oregon freshman Bol Bol of receiving illegal payments from Nike.

One day after tweeting that he would “disclose a major high school/college basketball scandal perpetrated by Nike,

“Bol Bol and his handlers also received large sums from Nike,” Avenatti posted on Twitter. “The receipts are clear as day. A lot of people at Nike will have to account for their criminal conduct.”

Oregon coach Dana Altman responded to Avenatti’s tweet during an interview session on Tuesday before Oregon left for Louisville, Ky. to face Virginia in the Sweet 16.

“I don’t have any information on that,” Altman said. “I have no reason to believe any of it is accurate. So until I get more information, I’m just not going to have any comment on that.”

Avenatti also implicated former Arizona star and current Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton’s mother with accepting payments. Ayton ultimately signed with Puma over Nike.
