Dan Lanning Says It’s All About Evaluation At Oregon Ducks Spring Game

BY STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME

Year two of the Dan Lanning era has some questions on both sides of the ball for the Oregon Ducks. The spring game this Saturday could answer some of those questions, at least in part.

Lanning joined John Canzano on 750 The Game on Tuesday and said roster evaluation will be his main objective on Saturday.

“The key for us is to make sure we get some guys evaluated and get some reps in front of a crowd and that real experience,” Lanning told Canzano.

The stars will be out at Autzen, Lanning said, with quarterback Bo Nix and running back Bucky Irving leading the way.

“Bucky and Bo – those guys are going to go out and perform too, because that’s how you create continuity,” Lanning said. “Become fluid and learn how to play with the people you’re playing with. Because regardless of it being a new year or not, there’s some different pieces out there. You got to learn how to play with those pieces.”

The spring game is Saturday at 1 p.m. at Autzen Stadium.

“It’s Oregon Duck day. After the game is over we’re gonna have a DJ, some food trucks sitting out in the patio area. There’s no such thing as enough home games, right? When it comes to the opportunity, I think everyone longs for it and miss it when fall’s over with. Well, this is our one chance to get just a taste of football being back.”
