Damon Stoudamire Joins Boston Celtics Coaching Staff

Former Portland Trail Blazer point guard, Damon Stoudamire is leaving his position as Head Coach at Pacific University to join new Boston Celtics Head Coach Ime Udoka’s staff as an assistant. Joining the Celtics is Stoudamire’s second coaching stint in the NBA after being part of the Memphis Grizzles staff from 2009-2011.

The 1996 NBA Rookie of the Year retired from the league in 2008 and his first head coaching position came in 2016 with Pacific. Stoudamire went 71-77 in five years with the Tigers highlighted by a 23-10 campaign in 2019-20. Pacific Associate Head Coach Leonard Perry will replace Damon Stoudamire as head coach and received a multi-year deal according to Stadium’s Jeff Goodman.
