Beavers Big Gift
Oregon State this week announced a $50 Million lead gift had been donated by an anonymous party for the Complete Reser Stadium project. President F King Alexander called the donation, which matches the largest ever donation to Oregon State, ____. Alexander and athletic director Scott Barnes joined John Canzano’s radio show this week in a joint interview, which you can hear in its entirety below. With the donation, the expansion on the west side of Reser Stadium is set to be completed by the fall of 2023.
Ducks Nail Recruiting
Once again, Mario Cristobal and his staff excelled on the recruiting trail for the class of 2021. With late signing day Wed. Feb. 3rd, the Ducks landed the 5th-highest ranked recruiting class in the country, per ESPN 300. USC finished at number eight. Oregon’s most recent signees were highlighted with four-star defensive back Avante Dickerson from Nebraska, and the entire class is led by star Lebanon linebacker Keith Brown. It is regarded as the top recruiting class in the history of Oregon Ducks football.
Super Bowl 55
Mike Remmers, former Jesuit HS star and Oregon State Beaver, will start at left tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in Super Bowl 55 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fellow Portland native and former Grant HS star Ndamukong Suh will line up across from him on the Tampa defensive line, playing in his second Super Bowl game. Remmers joined John Canzano on the radio show on Thursday to talk about how he is preparing to play in the big game again, as he started at right tackle for the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50, wherein Broncos rusher Von Miller took home Super Bowl MVP honors.
