Former Oregon Ducks tight end Pharaoh Brown has signed a deal with the Indianapolis Colts, the team announced Monday.

Brown played at Oregon from 2012-16. Ducks fans remember the gruesome leg injury Brown suffered in a game at Utah in 2014, where he was rushed to the University of Utah hospital and nearly lost his leg to amputation. A vein bypass surgery was successful. Brown rehabbed 19 months but was able to somehow return to the field for Oregon in 2016 and set career highs in receptions and receiving yards that season to go with five touchdowns. He was a two-time first-team All Pac-12 selection at Oregon (2014, 2016).

He signed with the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent following the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent time on the Raiders and Browns practice squads before playing 9 games with Cleveland in 2019. Brown played 13 games with the Houston Texans in the 2020 season and caught his first career touchdown against his former Browns squad in Week 10. He played another 15 games in Houston in 2021, then split last season between the Texans and Browns again and caught a combined 12 passes for 117 yards.
