750 The Game Staff
The Portland Trail Blazers updated a bevy of injuries on their roster as their five-game road trip concludes Wednesday at the Indiana Pacers. Rookie big man Donovan Clingan, who missed Monday’s loss in Memphis, has a grade 2 MCL sprain in his left knee, the team confirmed Tuesday afternoon, and will be reevaluated in two weeks.
Fellow big man Robert Williams III is in the NBA’s concussion protocol. He played just 12 minutes in the loss to Memphis. Portland has already been without big man Deandre Ayton who has missed the last seven games with a finger injury. Ayton is listed as questionable for Wednesday against the Pacers.
Guard/forward Matisse Thybulle has yet to play this season after suffering a knee injury in training camp. Thybulle won’t be returning anytime soon as the team confirmed he suffered a setback during his return-to-play rehab, spraining his right ankle. It is a grade 2 sprain, and Thybulle is expected to miss 3-6 weeks.
Forward Jerami Grant left Monday’s game early with a left knee sprain of his own and is listed as doubtful for Wednesday.
Guard Scoot Henderson missed Monday’s game in Memphis with a back strain and is questionable for Wednesday. Kris Murray (sternum bruise) is also questionable.
Portland is 7-11 overall. They are 10.5-pt underdogs at Indiana on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. on KATU 2.1. The Blazers return home to host Sacramento on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in the NBA Cup and host Dallas on Sunday at 6:00 p.m., both games on Charge! 2.2.
