Christian Gonzalez And Luke Musgrave Taken in 1st Round in Latest Daniel Jeremiah Mock Draft
BY 750 THE GAME STAFF
Daniel Jeremiah is among the most well-respected draft analysts in the business, and on the eve of the draft, DJ published his final mock draft.
Oregon Ducks defensive back Christian Gonzalez and Oregon State Beavers tight end Luke Musgrave are both first-round picks, according to Jeremiah’s final mock.
If that occurs, it will be the first time in history a Duck and a Beaver were both drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Gonzalez is considered to be a safe top-ten pick, regardless of who takes him. Jeremiah has him going No. 7 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders.
“The Raiders could go offensive line here,” Jeremiah says. “But the secondary needs help as well. In a division with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Herbert, I’ll go with the cornerback.”
Gonzalez trying to shut down Herbert? Sign Ducks fans up for that matchup.
Musgrave is a tougher situation to predict. This year’s tight end class is loaded with the likes of Utah’s Dalton Kincaid and Notre Dame’s Michael Mayer garnering the majority of the headlines. But Jeremiah says Musgrave will join them as a third tight end to go in the first round.
Where?
Jerry World.
The Dallas Cowboys will take Musgrave No. 26 overall, per Jeremiah’s mock, which has Kincaid going No. 13 to Green Bay and Mayer going No. 21 to Herbert’s Chargers.
“Dallas still has talent at tight end even after losing Dalton Schultz in free agency,” Jeremiah says. “But Musgrave gives them some major playmaking ability.”
Fans in the state of Oregon ought to root for history on Thursday night. And if Jeremiah’s final mock draft is accurate, history is what we’ll get.
