Cam Newton tests positive for COVID-19, Patriots travel to Chiefs delayed

Patriots quarterback Cam Newton is the latest big name to have tested positive for the coronavirus, per reports. He has been ruled OUT for Sunday’s game at Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Patriots are scheduled to leave later Saturday for Kansas City, but their travel has been delayed by the news of Newton’s positive test. No other players or staff members have yet tested positive, per reports.
Patriots were scheduled to leave for KC at about 1 ET; trip now is on standby as they await more test results and guidance from the NFL.
