Bueckers Scores 23 To Lead No. 2 UConn Past Oregon State 71-52

All-American Paige Bueckers scored 23 points to lead all scorers as No. 2 UConn defeated Oregon State 71-52 at the Baha Mar Women’s Championship in the Bahamas on Monday.

Bueckers shot 9-for-13 from the floor with 6 assists and a steal as UConn jumped to a 22-7 lead through the opening quarter. The Beavers trailed 42-19 at halftime but responded well in the second half, outscoring the Huskies 33-29.

Senior guard AJ Marotte led OSU with 17 points including 3-for-6 from 3-point range. Marotte added 5 rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Oregon State is 1-5 overall on the season. They will next be in action Wednesday in the 3rd-place game of the Baha Mar Women’s Championship against Boston College. Tip off is set for 2:00 p.m.
