Bruce’s 300th Career Home Run Helps Seattle Top L.A. 4-3
The Mariners led the game the entire way, but the win was not without some stressful moments.
After taking a 3-0 lead in the 5th inning, the Angels hit back-to-back solo blasts in the 6th to bring the game to a one run Seattle lead.
In the 7th, the Mariners rebounded with a solo home run of their own with Jay Bruce’s 300th career homer.
Then, in the 8th, LA scored a run after two walks and a sharply hit single. The Angels got the bases loaded with a walk, but Anthony Bass came in and slammed the door shut on the LA rally.
Bass finished what he started–with some help from Kyle Seager–in the 9th, and the Mariners won 4-3 on a strikeout of Jared Walsh.
