Bo Nix Is A Projected First Round Pick In Latest 2024 NFL Mock Draft

By STEVEN VAUGHAN, 750 THE GAME

The NFL never stops. The draft ended last weekend but it’s never too early to look ahead to next year’s draft.

Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports has done exactly that by mocking the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, and there is a lot of Northwest flavor in the first round.

Wilson had four Washington Huskies being selected in the first round led by linebacker Zion Tupuola-Fetui going 11th overall to the Seahawks.

As for the quarterbacks, the reigning Heisman winner Caleb Williams will be first off the board, per Wilson, going no. 1 overall to Arizona.

Bo Nix of Oregon was was slotted as the 2nd Pac-12 quarterback off the board. Wilson has Nix being picked 17th overall to the Denver Broncos and had this to say about the senior quarterback.

“The Oregon version of Bo Nix looked nothing like the Auburn version, and he would’ve almost certainly have been a day 2 pick had he been in the ’23 class.”

Nix was the fourth-highest rated quarterback behind Williams, UNC’s Drake Maye, and Texas’ Quinn Ewers.

Williams and Nix weren’t the only Pac-12 quarterbacks in the first round.

Washington’s Michael Penix Jr was mocked at no. 31 to the San Francisco 49ers.

“Penix has battled injuries but he had an impressive first season for the Huskies,” Wilson writes.

With three potential first round quarterbacks, plus the likes of newcomers DJ Uiagalelei (OSU), Shedeur Sanders (Colorado), Dante Moore (UCLA) and Drew Pyne (ASU), as well as returning signal-callers in Cam Rising (Utah), Jayden de Laura (Arizona), and Cameron Ward (WSU) — the Pac-12 looks like they may have the best collection of quarterbacks in the nation.
