Blazers Will Amend Melo’s Contract to Fully Guaranteed for Remainder of Season

Portland had time to consider whether or not they wanted to amend Carmelo Anthony’s contract, which was not fully guaranteed when he was signed by the team on November 14th. Technically, they had until early January to fully guarantee the deal for the season.

The Trail Blazers will amend Carmelo Anthony’s contract so that it becomes fully guaranteed for the remainder of the season, league sources tell ESPN.

Anthony is shooting 44.8%, and averaging 16.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game through eight games with the Blazers. He was awarded Western Conference Player of the Week honors last week.
