The Portland Trail Blazers clinched a spot in the 2019 playoffs, but there was very little to celebrate even with a win Monday night.

Without official announcement, we assume Jusuf Nurkic is out for the rest of the season. Nurkic was taken to a nearby hospital, Terry Stotts said after the game.

The Nets pushed the Blazers to overtime and double overtime. In the second session, Nurkic went down after going up for a rebound and his leg gave way underneath him.

At the bottom of the post, you’ll see a collection of tweets from players, teams, etc. giving love to Nurk.

How we got there, Portland needed to make some plays late and they nearly won in regulation.

Damian Lillard scored on a fantastic drive to the basket. Then, Seth Curry stole the ball from D’Angelo Russell, and dashed the other way.

Curry was fouled. With the Nets over the limit, Curry went to the line for two shots. He missed the first, but hit the second with 3.5 seconds to go.

Brooklyn got a last second shot from Russell, but it missed. In the first OT, both teams scored 12 points.

The second OT was overshadowed by Nurkic’s injury, but the Blazers pulled off the win with teamwork.

Rodney Hood scored four points, while Al-Farouq Aminu, Moe Harkless, Anfernee Simons, Curry, Lillard and Nurkic each scored two points in the second overtime.

Now, Portland will be without CJ McCollum and Nurkic. Stotts announced Monday that McCollum will not go on the Blazers upcoming four-game road trip.

Next up for Portland, is Wednesday in Chicago. After that, Friday at Atlanta, Saturday in Detroit, and Monday against Minnesota.
