Blazers Lose Again, Now Have Lost 7 of 8

The Portland Trail Blazers reign at the top of the Western Conference this year didn’t last long.  As the Blazers lost again, this time in LA against the Lakers 128-109.  With the loss the Trail Blazers are now 11-11 on the season and have lost 7 out of their last 8 games.  The Blazers defense is the biggest reason to blame for the struggle lately.  In the first 12 games of the season the Blazers had only given up 110+ points in 4 of the 12 games.  But in the last 10 games.  The Trail Blazers have given up 110+ in 9 of those games.  Now the Blazers are ranked 24th in defensive rating.

But there is some positives about the Trail Blazers still.  After shooting 22% and 7% from 3 in his last 6 games.  Rookie Shaedon Sharpe exploded in LA on the big stage.  He scored 16 points on 7-12 shooting including a monster put back dunk in the 2nd quarter.  More good news as Chris Haynes reported that star guard Damian Lillard is hoping to come back on Sunday against the Pacers.  Dame would be a much needed boost for the team who is now tied for 8th place in the Western Conference.
