Bad Shooting Sinks Blazers, Ugly Loss to Detroit 99-90
The Detroit Pistons started the game 0-for-12 from the floor. Blake Griffin got hurt during warm-ups. Portland still found a way to lose, 99-90.
Griffin went to the locker room with what the team called a sore left knee. The Detroit All-Star was held out of the game.
Portland shot a paltry 4-for-21 (19 percent) from deep. They also shot terribly from the field 38-for-102 (37.3 percent).
The Pistons weren’t much better shooting, but they found their stride in the second half. At the break, Portland led 34-31.
After scoring 31 in 24 minutes, Detroit scored 35 in the third quarter alone to take a 66-59 lead over the Blazers.
This game was as ugly as it could get from bad defense to questionable foul calls against both sides and just awful, awful shooting.
The loss for Portland snaps their six game winning streak.
The road trip continues on Monday when the Blazers battle the Minnesota Timberwolves.
