Oregon Ducks offensive coordinator Marcus Arroyo was officially introduced as the next head football coach at UNLV today.

Arroyo also made clear that he will be with the No. 6 Ducks when they battle No. 8 Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1, 2020.

From James Creppea of Oregon Live:

“The Rose Bowl is an opportunity that I plan on being a part of,” Arroyo said. “That is ultra exciting for what we’ve done and the athletes that I’ve had a chance to be a part of. Again, that’s an awesome thing.

“But I’m locked in here and have been full-speed ahead since we had those conversations about the opportunity.”

Our own, John Canzano, (along with Creppea’s article) brought up a little extra incentive for Arroyo to coach in The Granddaddy of Them All.

Arroyo’s contract with UNLV is for five years and $7.7 million, “beginning at $1.5 million next year and rising to $1.6 million by the end of the term,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
