A Delayed Start Leads To A Draw For The Timbers

By 750 THE GAME STAFF
Over a 90 minute delay because of weather really hurt this match between Portland and Real Salt Lake.
A lot of the crowd left because of the weather and it was really dead at the stadium which led to not a lot of energy from both teams.
In the first half. There wasn’t a lot of good scoring opportunities for either team except one by Salt Lake. Timbers goalie, Aljaž Ivačič, had a great save. Real Salt Lake had a cross into he box which led to a header but Ivačič was there to make the play of the game. And the score was 0-0 heading into the half.
In the second half the sloppy play continued. Some energy was had in the first 10 minutes of the second half but nothing was capitalized on. A lot of miss-kicks. Bad crosses. Bad shot attempts in the second half confirmed the 0-0 draw.
It was one of those days. A mid-week game. A delayed start. In a winnable game for the Timbers. Portland comes away with a draw.
Next up is a match on Saturday against Minnesota from Providence Park. Pregame starts at 6:30 with kickoff at 7:30. Exclusively on 750 The Game.
