1-0! Beavers drop Boise State in opener, 34-17
For the first time in his tenure, Jonathan Smith is 1-0 as head coach of his alma mater, Oregon State.
The Beavers were the better team from start to finish on Saturday night, defeating Boise State 34-17 at the midst-of-renovation Reser Stadium in Corvallis.
OSU led 24-0 at halftime, Boise State benched starting quarterback Hank Bachmeier, ‘The Jackhammer’ Jack Colletto had a 41-yard touchdown run, and it was all smiles in Corvallis to open the 2022 season.
The Beavers (1-0) go on the road in week two for another Mountain West Conference foe in the Fresno State Bulldogs (1-0). Fresno State won their season-opener over Cal Poly on Thurs., Sept. 1st, 35-7.
