Timbers Fall to Chivas USA 2-1
April 7, 2012, 10:30 pm
Portland found themselves in an unfamiliar situation in the first-half of their match against Chivas USA tonight - leading. In the 16th minute, Kris Boyd found the back of the net in what was the Timbers first first-half goal of the season.
However, the end result was all too familiar for the Timbers, as they ended up losing the game 2-1 after a Chivas second-half rally.
Chivas quickly evened up the match early in the second-half when Alejandro Moreno was able to head in a Ryan Smith cross.
Then, in the 82nd minute, Nick LaBrocca was able to get a header past keeper Troy Perkins to put Chivas USA ahead.
The Timbers are now winless since March 12th, and their record drops to 1-3-1.
They face the Los Angeles Galaxy next on April 14th in LA.
