John Spencer has been fired

The Portland Timbers have fired Head Coach John Spencer. Owner Merritt Paulson spoke to the media and made the announcement

The Oregonian first reported that Head Coach John Spencer had been fired. The Timbers have won just five games this season and have 19 points in the standings. The club has struggled away from Jeld Wen Field, as they are 0-6-2. The Timbers next play at home on Saturday as they host the L.A. Galaxy.
