Anthony Q Newman/Goducks
With one week of fall camp in the books, the 2012 Ducks football season is officially upon us.  With the return of the season, comes the return of one of our close friends, Anthony Q. Newman.   He joined Chad in studio Monday to talk about the 2012 season.

Chad and Q were welcomed by surprise guest Julius Addison, father of 2012 Duck commit Braylon Addison.  The three talked in detail about what Braylon can bring to the table for the Ducks this season.  Julius suggests that his son possesses many of the same attributes as 2011 freshman phenom, De’Anthony Thomas.  He’s quick, he’s athletic, he can run, he can catch, and just like Thomas, he’s ready to go immediately.

Chad and Q also analyzed the Ducks’ defense and the opinion is unanimous, that defense is loaded – not just with athletes, but with NFL potential with guys like: Kiko Alonso, Boseko Lokombo, Dion Jordan, John Boyett and Arik Armstead.  Both believe the defense is as good of a squad as they’ve seen in the Chip Kelly era.

It wasn’t all Ducks on the MSP.  The two were also joined by Beavers radio analyst Jim Wilson.  Wilson insists that this year’s team is without a doubt going to be better than last year’s team, both in talent and in depth.  He also suggests that all the guys the Beavers have coming in are guys who can really play.  The three also agree that Mike Riley’s team needs to significantly improve this season – meaning he needs to get the Beavers to the postseason – or there’s a decent chance that someone else will be coaching the team in 2013.

Take a listen as Chad, Newman and Wilson debate this year’s Pac-12 conference and if you like what you hear from Q, get used to it because he’s going to be joining us every Monday and Wednesday through the college football season.  If you didn’t like what you heard from Q, you better get over it because he’s not going anywhere.
