Clark Judge, the senior NFL writer at cbssports.com, joined John on the Bald Faced truth today to discuss how the first week of NFL went for the current 'replacement' refs.

Clark was hesitently positive about their premeire, but was quick to point out the few flaws and missed calls as well.

"In the Arizona game they gave Seattle one more time out than Seattle should have had. Not good, especially if Arizona had lost. Overall I thought they were ok, I mean the locked out officials miss calls too, and we complain about them every year."

John also reminded Clark of his old days as a beat writer for the 49ers, and got his thoughts on their performance.

"Right now they are one of the best two teams in football, and they may be the best team in football. New England would be the other."

Judge goes on to explain how replay can really help aleviate poor officiating, and how it can mitigate poor calls. Listen to the interview below.
