Mike Monroe, writer for the San Antonio New Express joined John Canzano on The Bald Faced Truth to talk about the upcoming series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Oklahoma City Thunder. Monroe and Canzano discuss the Spurs and the great environment that the fans create for the team. Monroe also mentions how being fired from Foxsports.com was one of the best things that happened to him because he later landed the job at News Express in San Antonio.
They then talk Tim Duncan finding his fountain of Youth and stepping up during the playoffs with Tony Parker. They also talk about his passion for the game and how everyone thinks he’s such a serious guy, but actually has a sense of humor. John mentions the many players on the team that don’t have the big names, but the importance of them to the team. Monroe agrees with him and brings up names like Danny Green, Gary Neal, Kawhi Leonard and Boris Diaw being huge parts of their success. They then talk about the San Antonio and Oklahoma series and what they hope to see in this upcoming series.
