Comedian Paul Reiser In Studio

The Bald Faced Truth was proud to welcome actor and comedian Paul Reiser on the show this afternoon. Paul joined John Canzano to discuss his career as well as his upcoming performance at the Helium Comedy Club tonight in Portland.

Most fans know Paul from hit shows such as Mad About You, but he actually got into standup comedy long before his television career.

"I started as a stand up, and then I got into TV and film. I didn't do stand up for a long time, and am just now getting back into it. I'm having the time of my life. The act is all new, and it's all new stuff. What's funny is, it's kind of refreshing to find out it's exactly the same."

As he is just getting back into stand up, John asks Paul where his content originally came from, and if it still comes from the same place.

"I always tell people I write what happens to me because I'm not smart enough to make it up. So when I started stand up, I was doing stuff about my girlfriend and living together. Suddenly that stuff started working. I was like 'oh I guess that's what seems to feel best for me', and out of that grew Mad About You."
