The BCS is quickly approaching the date that they will make the case for a college football playoff.  BCS President Bill Hancock told our Brian Berger that the playoff system not only will work, but it will still give those teams from smaller conferences a chance.  Larry Scott, the commissioner of the Pac-12 says he thinks a playoff is a good thing for college football.  

Traditional college football fans will argue that the bowl games are in danger of losing some of their status if a playoff system is put into place.  The Rose Bowl has traditionally been played between the winners of the Pac-12 and Big 10 conferences.  With the current system in place, the Rose Bowl still has an agreement where the winner of both conferences would play in Pasadena, baring one or both are ranked 1 or 2 in the final BCS standings.

Rachel Bachman of the Wall Street Journal, formerly of the Oregonian, has proposed that both the Pac-12 and Big 10 leave the BCS to save the sanctity of the “Grand-Daddy Of Them All”.  Rachel joined Brian to discuss her article and where college football is headed.
