Larry Scott the Pac 12 commissioner joined Brain on the show to talk about all things Pac 12. He went into the new Pac-12 Network, the college football playoff that could be installed, Expansion, and the changing of college football in general.
Brian started the conversation with Larry about the new Pac-12 Network and the programming that is being established for all Pac-12 fans. Larry conversed about the many sports that will be broadcasted on there such as not only football and basketball but other Olympic sports such as baseball, softball, track field, and more. He also added how every Men’s basketball game will be televised on one of the many networks that show Pac-12 sports.
Larry then went into the most talked about story in college football, the proposed four team playoff and reactions from others. Larry was in favor of the playoff and wants to make sure the Rose Bowl, which is going to celebrate its 99th edition this year, is still prestigious as it has always been.
The addition of the Pac-12 Football Championship game and sites for men’s and women’s basketball tournaments were discussed as the Pac-12 hopes to not only be regionalized here on the west but all over America. In addition he talked about the rise of the basketball programs in the Pac-12 after down year in 2011-12.
Finally, expansion was discussed after adding two team (Colorado, Utah) and if he will consider more teams in the Pac-12. The landscape as he said in college football is changing rapidly so expansion is always discussed and thought about.
