A group of investors including Magic Johnson and former Washington Nationals GM Stan Kasten purchased the Los Angeles Dodgers for 2 billion dollars.  It is the largest purchase price of any American sports franchise.  Frank McCourt sold the team after going through a messy divorce, in which he has to pay his exwife in excess of 150 million dollars.
