A miserable season for the Beavers got worse on Saturday. Oregon State traveled to Utah and gave the Utes their first ever Pac-12 victory. Utah takes the win by a 27-8 final, sending Oregon State to 2-5 on the year.
The Beavers did not get on the board until the fourth quarter when Sean Mannion hit Markus Wheaton for a three yard strike. Oregon State went for two but failed. However later in the quarter the Beavers did grab two points on a defensive safety. Utah was docked the points for a penalty from their own one yard line.
Quarterback Sean Mannion was not sharp at all as he was 27-49 for 231 yards with the touchdown. However Mannion threw three picks on the day. The ground attack for Oregon State was relatively nonexistent as they totaled just 31 yards as a team.
Utah pounded the ball for most of the day. The pushed the Oregon State defense around as they totaled 225 yards on the ground. Utes Running Back John White was a monster as he gained 205 yards himself with a touchdown.
Oregon State returns home next week to take on still undefeated Stanford.
