The NFC West has been one of the more surprising divisions in football this year with the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks both having above .500 records for the season.  Former NFL great Warren Moon joined Chad on Flight 750 to talk about the big changes he has seen from the division rivals.

The biggest surprise for most people has been the successful play of rookie quarterback Russell Wilson.  Moon insists that this kid is wise beyond his years and he is only a rookie by age.

“When he first came in here, he caught everybody’s attention…He was in the practice facility late into the night and he’d be the first one back in the morning watching tape of what he did right and what he did wrong.  That same attitude has continued all the way up into the season.  He hasn’t let up any.”

Moon also spoke to the maturity Wilson has shown in getting over his mistakes when they do occur.

“He doesn’t seem to make the same mistake twice.  When he makes a mistake, he doesn’t come back and do it again.  That’s the sign of a good player – a guy that has a short memory.”

Moon also spoke to the little quarterback controversy taking place in San Francisco and coach Jim Harbaugh’s decision to name Colin Kaepernick the starter over Alex Smith.

“I just wish he’d be more honest about the reason why.  To say he’s going with the hot hand, well you can’t get much hotter than Alex Smith was before he had his concussion.  He was passing 92% in his last football game, had four touchdowns and no interceptions in his last two games.  You can’t get much hotter than that.”

Take a listen to the interview and be sure and check out Moon’s organization, Sports One Marketing.  They are doing a lot of great things for communities on the west coast.
