Grant continues to search for a cure

June 26, 2012, 2:43 pm

The Sports Insider, Brian Berger, welcomed Trail Blazer favorite Brian Grant to talk about his charity and his fight with Parkinson Disease.

Their conversation started about Brian’s charity and his fight with Parkinson’s for the last four years. Grant was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in November 2008 at age 36. He has met and partnered up with Michael J. Fox and Muhammad Ali, then decided to create The Brian Grant Foundation. The new charity supports efforts toward the education and awareness of Parkinson’s disease in order to increase earlier diagnosis, educate patients and their families, and provide a viable forum for people affected by the disease.

The foundation hosts an annual fundraiser called "Shake It Till We Make It" in order to raise money to provide support and resources for all those affected by Parkinson's Disease. "Shake It Till We Make It" is a two-day celebrity gala and golf tournament. The tournament will take place on Monday July 16th, at Pumpkin Ridge and will have a Celebrity Putting Contest, auctions, and Live music and dancing. To Find out more go to shakeittillwemakeit.com.

Listen to what Brian has to say about the NBA champion Miami Heat and Pat Riley. They also talk about drafting players from smaller schools, referring to prospect Damian Lillard, and how Brian feels about drafting from smaller schools compared to the college powerhouses.
