Tommy Thayer still rocking
Kiss lead guitarist and rock legend Tommy Thayer joined guest host Brian Wheeler of The Bald Faced Truth Friday to discuss his music career and current tour.
Thayer and Kiss are touring alongside Motley Crue for the Tour of the Summer, a "two-concerts-in-one" rock event for what Thayer calls an ageless genre.
"It's kind of a timeless thing, a band like Kiss," Thayer said. "The image and the makeup and the characters and everything like that. And the music is timeless too -- it's something that continues to carry on.
Formed in 1973, the legend of Kiss has been living for nearly 40 years. According to Thayer, the group doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon.
"The Rollings Stones are in their seventies now, so we're just youngsters compared to them," Thayer joked.
Thayer will be in Oregon for the 6th annual Pacific Legends Classic benefiting Pacific University starting this weekend. He is also on the Pacific University board of trustees. Listen to the interview:
