On a rare midday game, the Portland Timbers traveled to Los Angeles to play Chivas USA. Despite the unusual start time, the result was quite familiar as the Timbers fell 1-0.
The lone goal in the game came in the 16th minute courtesy of Chivas USA's Miller Bolanos, when he put back a ball near the 6-yard box.
Portland struggled early getting shots on goal, but come the second half began attacking more, out-shooting Chivas USA 12-7.
With the shutout, the Timbers have now gone 607 straight minutes without a road goal. The team also falls to 0-4 all-time at MLS games at the Home Depot Center.
Portland falls to 5-10-4 now on the season and remains at 19 points.
Timbers play FC Dallas next Saturday night.
