For the fifth consecutive year, the Ducks have beaten the Beavers in the Civil War, with the latest being a 48-24 road victory at Reser Stadium in Corvallis.

Coming off an upset loss at home to the Stanford Cardinal last week, the Ducks looked like they were going to be in for a bit of a dogfight.  Early on, the Beavers were successful in matching the Ducks blow-for-blow and confusing young Marcus Mariota.

But about halfway through the second quarter Oregon got into its groove while the wheels started falling off for the Beavers.   And when the third quarter came around, it was all Ducks.

The running game was much-improved this week as the trio of Kenjon Barner, De’Anothy Thomas and Marcus Mariota ran for 405 yards and five scores.

But the real story of this game was turnovers.  The Ducks were careful and efficient with the ball, while Sean Mannion had one of his worst performances of the season.  He did throw for 311 yards, but that was on 31 of 49 attempts and it includes four interceptions.

Mannion was not the only problem spot for the Beavers on Saturday.  The return game, a strength for the Beavers all season, also had a bad day as two more turnovers came in the return game.

The Ducks at 11-1 on the season look like they will be headed back to Glendale for the post-season to most likely take on Colin Klein and Kansas State.

The Beavers have one more game as they will be making up their season opener with Nicholls State that was postponed due to Hurricane Isaac.
