Spencer seeks win against the Galaxy

This weekend the Timbers face David Beckham and the L.A. Galaxy at the Home Depot Center. The Timbers are coming off of a mid-season break and hope to get back on track with a victory on Sunday. Manager John Spencer joins the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about the upcoming match against the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Timbers have underperformed so far this season and Spencer wants to make Sunday a turning point for Portland.

Coach Spencer talks about his early years as a professional soccer player and his struggle to make it. He discusses how today’s soccer players don’t pay their dues and hoe this has made them softer than his generation of players. He explains what he does to keep the Timbers from becoming complacent. He then talks about his strategy for Sunday’s game. John also gives his advice for recent high school graduates.
