The NHL may be in the midst of a work stoppage but that hasn't stopped NHL legend
Jeremy Roenick from spreading the love of hockey. Jeremy Roenick joined Bald Faced Truth producer Chop to talk hockey, acting and writing.
Portland, Oregon may not have an NHL team but it remains a hockey town and strongly supports it's junior hockey team the WHL's
Portland Winterhawks. The Winterhawks were found by the WHL to have violated rules and handed a penalty. Roenick talked with Chop about the situation in Portland.
"One of the guys involved in the organization one of the big wigs is one of my best friends so I heard a lot of stuff is going on but no question they're one of the better teams in the WHL and a very strong team and a strong organization, they'll be fine especially with the leadership in the offices for sure."
J.R. was quick to suggest which NHL team would be his favorite to win the Stanley Cup if the labor dispute ended and the season started today.
"I'm gonna go probably with the New York Rangers to tell you the truth, they go out and they get Rick Nash which is a huge addition to their already talented lineup. Their goalie is arguably one of the best goaltenders in the world and I just think that they're rolling along pretty good there and they hit a hot New Jersey Devil team but they're stronger this year than last year."
Roenick also goes on to talk about his latest book
"J.R.: My Life as the Most Outspoken, Fearless, and Hard-Hitting Man in Hockey" and no segment with Chop is complete without the guest being "sportschopped."
