NBA center Todd MacCulloch battles CMT/Seattle Times

May 17, 2012, 3:34 pm

Since retiring from basketball in 2003, Todd MacCulloch has turned his attention to his second passion in life—pinball. Former NBA center Todd MacCulloch joins the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about how he transitioned his life from professional basketball to competitive pinball. Todd played 4 seasons in the NBA before the rare neurological disorder known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease finished his career. CMT is a degenerative disease with no cure. Faced with such a grim diagnosis, Todd left the NBA and found a new outlet for his competitive spirit in pinball.

Todd reveals why he regrets not having the chance to play in the NBA anymore. He talks about his time playing in Philadelphia and his memories of his teammate Allen Iverson. He discusses the neurological disorder that ended his career prematurely. Todd also explains why he purchased his own Slurpee machine. Todd then talks about his career transition from basketball to professional pinball.
