The Portland Timbers 2012 season has been one of many changes. Owner and president Merritt Paulson joined the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to discuss change.
Merritt Paulson talked with John about the hiring of their new head coach Caleb Porter. Paulson recently was going through some social media anxiety with fans complaining about the possibility of ticket prices going up. The Timbers organization made the decision and
assured fans that there will not be an increase in prices.
With the new head coach Caleb Porter, Paulson is excited for the upcoming season with new players and new staff; he sees it as a fresh start. Paulson has done an incredible job of backing his team and staff and sees the hard decisions as part of his job as an owner and his responsibility.
“I think that his talent is really unique, this is a very analytical, charismatic guy, who’s a terrific manager. He gets our culture, he understands what were about, his vision jives with ours; on almost every level it was a fit.” Paulson said when talking about new head coach Caleb Porter.
On a last note Paulson believes that Darlington Nagbe is a great new asset to the team and wants to see some big wins for the upcoming season of MLS.
