Oregon State fans may have been thinking this week’s matchup with Oregon could have been a 2011 edition of “Giants Killers”. However Stanford was not about to slip up on their bid for a perfect season as they grab the 38-13 victory.
Cardinal Quarterback Andrew Luck was 20-30 for 206 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.
Oregon State Quarterback Sean Mannion racked up 252 yards and a touchdown as the Beavers fall to 2-7. The lost guarantees them of a losing season.
The Oregon State defense was pushed around all day by the tough ground attack of Stanford. The Cardinal tallied 300 yards total on the ground as a team. Stepfan Taylor the way with 95 yards on 13 carries. Meanwhile Oregon State only managed 33 yards rushing as a team.
Stanford did not escape Corvallis unscathed however. Wide receiver Chris Owusu suffered a concussion in the second quarter after a helmet-to-helmet collision with Beavers cornerback Jordan Poyer. Wusu was taken from the field by ambulance.
Oregon State travels south to face California next week.
