Rob Mullens, University of Oregon’s athletic direction joined John Canzano on The Bald Faced Truth to do a state of the union. Canzano asks Mullens what it is like to be an athletic director at Oregon and if his expectations were met. Mullens then talks about the differences in things that he expected, including the pace, the supporters, and having to sustain excellence.
He also talks about the possibility of expanding the Football field and how he doesn’t have an exact answer yet, but as the market continues to grow he believes that it may happen. Canzano asks about other teams at Oregon, so they discussed Women’s Indoor Track team, Men’s Golf team, Women’s Softball team, their Baseball team and the possibility of their Men and Women’s Outdoor Track team bringing home titles.
They also talk about how the department is involved in the Football Program and how critical it is for Oregon to stay Elite. Canzano mentions having a reality show at Oregon for revenue and asks Mullins about how they celebrate accomplishments. Mullens admits that it would be a good reality show, but it would not be his things. He also says that he needs to improve on recognizing the little things at Oregon and how it would be an improvement to celebrate more the name on the Front of the Jersey, not the back.
