Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star joined Brian Berger to talk about the new potential Blazer Roy Hibbert and if he is coming to Portland.

Brian first asks Mike about what kind of person Roy is in the community. Mike says that Roy is a good guy in the community and that he uses Twitter to talk to his fans and invite them to the movies and other activities. Mike also added that Roy does many charity events in Indiana and that if he would come to Portland, the city would love him not only for his play but for his community involvement.

Brian and Mike then talk about the changes in the Pacers Front Office with the departure of Larry Bird and the additions of Donnie Walsh and new GM Kevin Pritchard. Mike mentions about the time that Pritchard spent in Portland and how some Portland fans are luke warm on his time here. Mike then mentions about the Pacers Ownership and that they are willing to spend money and have already with the signing of George Hill.

Brian finally asks Mike the big question if Roy is going to come to the Blazers. Mike’s gut feeling is that Roy will be coming to the Blazers next season. Mike’s reasoning for Roy signing is that the Pacers original offer to Roy was lower than what Roy expected. In addition, Mike believes that the Pacers would not want to spent upwards of 14 million dollars a year on Roy, which is why he believes Roy will be in a Blazers jersey next season.

Listen below to find out more on the Pacers and Blazers coaching situation as both teams are looking at the same candidate in Brian Shaw. In addition you can follow Mike Wells on Twitter @MikeWellsNBA and in the Indianapolis Star.
