Coach Mike Riley announced today that starting quarterback Sean Mannion will be out for an unspecified amount of time with a knee injury. Riley stated that Mannion was still undergoing medical examinations on his knees and will release a timeline for his return soon. Lindsay Schnell, Oregon State beat writer for The Oregonian, joins the Bald Faced Truth with John Canzano to talk about Mannion knee injury and his backup Cody Vaz.
Lindsay and John discuss why Mike Riley was so reluctant to reveal that Sean Mannion was injured. Lindsay reveals the scene at practice and how coy Riley was when he announced that Mannion was out for Saturday’s game. She talks about when Beaver fans will know if Mannion could return this season. Lindsay then explains how the other Beaver players are reacting to the news that Mannion is out. She also comments on what to expect with backup quarterback Cody Vaz and if he can seamlessly takeover for Mannion.
