Levi Leipheimer, a pro-cyclist for Patrick Lefevere's Omega Pharma-Quick Step team joined John Canzano today The Bald Faced Truth to discuss cycling and his upcoming documentary The Levi Effect. Leipheimer talks about his transition from being a skier to a cyclist and talks about the differences between the Tour de France and the Olympics.
Canzano asks Leipheimer about taking time off of cycling and his love for the sport. Canzano then asks about his upcoming documentary, The Levi Effect, which is based on the effect the county that he grew up in had on his life and cycling. Which Leipheimer explains, that having the documentary be free is in the spirit of sharing the passion and love of cycling.
Levi talks about how cycling is similar to chess and how he still learns different strategies as the days go by because the sport is so broad. He also explains how fans can get involved/ engaged in watching the Tour de France and other similar events. Canzano mentions the reactions fans have towards him when they see him biking and Leipheimer responds with a few examples and how getting hit by a car in Spain didn’t stop him from competing in the Tour of California.
