LeGarrette Blount: I have no friends on the field
Outspoken Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount is making it clear that he will have no love for his former Tampa Bay teammates on Sunday.
Blount said: "I don't have no friends when I get on the football field. I don't have no homies. I've never met you and I don't know you. That's how it is on the field.
"When I step on the field, we ain't cool. We ain't nothing."
The Patriots play the Buccaneers in New England on Sunday. Blount, who went undrafted, was signed by Tampa Bay in 2010 and rushed for 1,007 yards his rookie season. He spent three seasons with the Buccaneers before being signed by New England last offseason.
Said Blount: “I worked really hard and the undrafted thing really put a chip on my shoulder because I felt like I was the best running back coming out of my class so when I was undrafted I felt like I was forgotten about.”
Blount said Patriots coach Bill Belichick get a raw deal from media.
“He’s not as, like, mean and rude as the media portrays him. They make him seem like he's a horrible person. I like him and everyone here likes him. He’s a really good coach and a smart guy. Coach Belichick is a good dude and I like him a lot.
"He's an honest person; he tells you what he wants from you and expects from you. He doesn't leave you hanging.”
