After 27 minutes of playing against a Dallas squad that was man down, a beauty of a goal by Jack Jewsbury equalized the game at 1-1 in the 79th minute.
Playing in heat they are used to seeing in their home state, FC Dallas struck first, when Brek Shea found Scott Sealy in the box who put a right-footed shot past Troy Perkins in the 51st minute.
A minute later, though, Zach Loyd was ejected for drawing his second yellow-card of the game and FC Dallas was forced to go man-down the remainder of the match.
And Jewsbury finally capitalized on the advantage in the 79th when he rocketed back a volley from about 25-feet away with his off foot.
The draw snapped the Timber's 5-game losing streak to MLS teams.
Portland now has ten days off until they travel to Canada to face off against Toronto on the 15th.
