Jason Cole talks with The Sports Insider

Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports joined Brian Berger on the Sports Insider this afternoon to talk about the recent news around the National Football League.

Jason said he doesn’t blame players for not going all out during the Pro Bowl due to the basic physical risk involved, but he says if the Pro Bowl is continued, it shouldn’t be a farce.

When asked about the situation of the Saints trying to sign Drew Brees, Jason said the Saints are committed to giving the signal-caller 18-19 million dollars a year, while Brees wants about 21-23 million. Cole says that part of Brees motivation is the fact that he never has hit the big contract the way that other high-profile quarterbacks have done.

Brian and Jason also talk about Cam Newton, coaches who are on the hot seat, the Dolphins on Hard Knocks and Ryan Tannehill’s wife.
