When people think of wide receivers the word gritty and tough aren't the first words that come to mind. Unless of course you're talking about former Pittsburgh Steelers legend and currently an analyst on
NBC's "Football Night in America" Hines Ward. Ward joined BFT producer Chop for an interview that saw Ward get "Sports Chopped".
The Oregon Ducks have a high flying offense but are still seen as a team that can't compete with the upper echelon of the SEC. Hines Ward, who played for Georgia is asked if he thinks the Ducks could beat the likes of an Alabama or LSU.
"I think they can, the explosive weapons that they have on the field, they have the speed you know you look at SEC and everybody talks about the speed of the game but for Oregon they can go toe to toe as far as with speed but you still have to worry about the defensive side."
Hines Ward was known as one of the toughest receivers to ever play in the history of the NFL. Chop asks Hines where he got his toughness from.
"I always had that defensive mentality growing up, I was quarterback in high school but I was the strong safety as well and always took the approach I was going to hit somebody before they hit me."
